We didn’t arrive until 1 am, then couldn’t find the place, the owner came out to find us…brilliant! The hotel looks great inside, very 1920s in decor, this may have something to do with the film of that era that was made there. The room was adequate for two, with shower and toilet, these were obviously added a long time after the hotel was built, so did eat into the space in the room. Even taking that into account, it did not feel cramped. The bedding, room, and bathroom were very clean, and literally smelled of nothing…so if you are overly sensitive to cleaning product smells, so strong in many hotels, this a great stop. We used it as an overnight from a late ferry, and were very pleased with the price, condition, and friendliness. One caveat, this is an old fashioned hotel, do not stop here if you demand everything be plastic, scrubbed on the hour and replaced every 5 years on a corporate scheme…this is brilliantly owner managed. If you like, quirky, old fashioned (in the best way), and are willing to accept it as it is, you will love it
